The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox tries a low kick but Marsh avoids it.
Maddox tries to bum rush Marsh with a series of wild strikes but Marsh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Maddox throws a nice looking combination but Marsh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Marsh steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Maddox. That one must have hurt.

Marsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Maddox has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Maddox and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Kris Marsh will probably get the nod.

Marsh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maddox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Marsh wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Maddox is now in half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oh Marsh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maddox looks to throw the jab but Marsh is out of range.
Marsh takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Maddox sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Marsh's defenses. It connects perfectly with Marsh's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
