PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alan Oro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Oro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oro swats away the attempt to clinch by Castillo.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch but Oro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Oro, right into the meat.
The fighters circle momentarily. Oro darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A head kick misses from Oro.
Castillo checks the leg kick.
Oro misses with a two punch combination.
Oro throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Castillo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Castillo tries to clinch there but Oro circles away.
Oro scores with a nice right hand.
Oro circles away from the clinch attempt.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Oro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Oro throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oro tries a head kick but it misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Castillo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Oro.
Oro throws a sloppy head kick and Castillo moves out of range easily.
Oro lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Good shot there by Oro.


It looks like Danny Castillo has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Castillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Oro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Castillo is fending him off so far but Oro persists. Nope, Castillo circles away and we're back to standing.
Castillo tries to clinch but Oro is having none of it.
Oro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Castillo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Oro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alan Oro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castillo looks to score with a jab to the body but Oro is just out of range.
Oro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oro throws a shot to the body.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oro swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Castillo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oro tries to land knees in the clinch but Castillo avoids the damage to the body.
Oro gets through Castillo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Castillo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Oro regains guard.

Oro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Castillo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Castillo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Castillo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Castillo is working Oro over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Oro throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Castillo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Castillo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Castillo chips away with some ground and pound.

Oro has his foot on Castillo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castillo works his way back into a safe position though.

Oro is looking for a triangle but Castillo pushes his legs off easily.
Castillo lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Oro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Castillo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Castillo postures up and lands a big shot to Oro's brow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Oro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Castillo scoring with punches to the head and body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castillo looking to pass the guard.
Castillo lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Oro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castillo defends well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Castillo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Castillo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Oro's head.
Castillo lands a couple of digs.

Castillo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Castillo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Oro looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Castillo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Castillo has managed to get both his arms back between Oro's legs - danger averted.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oro has an active guard here but Castillo has managed to pass into half guard.

Oro looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alan Oro will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Danny Castillo's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Oro fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Castillo checks it well.
Castillo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oro swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oro avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Castillo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Castillo. That did some damage!
Oro lands with a shot to the body.
Castillo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alan Oro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oro ducks under a wild hook from Castillo.
Castillo tries to clinch up but Oro circles away and keeps his distance.
Castillo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Oro fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Oro lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oro scores with a head kick. Castillo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Castillo is still on wobbly legs! Can Oro finish him?
Oro throws a leg kick which misses Castillo's front leg but catches the back leg as Castillo tries to avoid it.
Castillo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Castillo is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Castillo wants to clinch.
Castillo backs away from a small jab... but Oro lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Castillo crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Oro with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Alan Oro!
