Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darryl Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steele feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Steele stops Ray from standing up.
Ray wants to sweep here but Steele controlling him for the moment.
Ray is looking to stand up but Steele isn't so interested in that idea.

Steele decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Steele shoots in looking for a takedown. Ray tries to sprawl out of it but Steele keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Steele tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ray swivels and escapes.
Darryl Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele looks for a takedown but Ray sprawls well.

Steele slips a straight right by Ray.
Ray fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steele closes the distance and clinches up with Ray, looking for a takedown. Steele pushes Ray against the cage but Ray circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Good leg kick by Steele there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Steele tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ray swivels and escapes.
Ray throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ray misses with a two punch combination.
Ray looks to land a right hand but Steele moved out of range.
Ray throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ray thuds a left hand into Steele's body.
Steele is breathing heavily.
Ray comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ray is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steele.
Ray lands with a nice combination. Steele backs away looking to recover.

Steele decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Ray misses with a series of wild punches.

Ray gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Steele won't allow Ray to get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Steele will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Steele ducks right into an uppercut from Ray.

Ray stuns Steele with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ray looks to land a combination but Steele avoids it well.

Ray throws a nice looking combination but Steele bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Steele scores with a one two! Ray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Steele counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ray is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Steele is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Steele has managed to clinch.
Steele drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ray gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Steele jumps into guard, dragging Ray to the mat.
Steele manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ray manages to get himself to full guard.

Steele stands up from Ray's guard - Steele perhaps looking for a knockout.
Steele misses with a takedown attempt - Ray sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice sprawl there from Ray as Steele shoots in.
Ray uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Steele has time to react.
Ray shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Steele throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ray's waist but Ray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Steele off to one side.
Ray misses the shot to the body.
Ray on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Steele scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Steele in side control lands a decent elbow.
Ray is still in real trouble! Can Steele finish him?
Steele scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ray is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Steele can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
