The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen dives in and grabs Kidder's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kidder pushes down on Sonnen's head and hops out.
Sonnen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kidder pinned against the cage. Kidder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kidder goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
Sonnen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Derrick Kidder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chael Sonnen.

Kidder has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sonnen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kidder avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kidder lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sonnen backwards.

Kidder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sonnen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kidder tries to avoid it but Sonnen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kidder to the ground. Kidder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sonnen swats away the attempt to clinch by Kidder.
Derrick Kidder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sonnen needs to keep his hands up - Kidder had a free shot at his head there.
Sonnen is still on wobbly legs! Can Kidder finish him?
Kidder drops Sonnen with a naaaaasty hook - Sonnen is in real trouble here! Kidder dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Derrick Kidder spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
