PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephane Kohler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nash Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kohler comes into the arena with 300 Violin Orchestra blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

It looks like Nash Bones has been cut.
Kohler throws a looping overhand right but Bones ducks down to avoid it.

No joy there for Kohler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nice body kick there by Kohler.

Kohler tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bones is able to avoid easily.

Kohler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bones doesn't seem bothered though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kohler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Bones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kohler finds it's way round the side to connect with Bones's head.

and Bones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kohler's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Bones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kohler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kohler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kohler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kohler!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bones manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kohler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kohler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Bones is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kohler is surviving well by controlling Bones's body position as best he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bones has isolated one of Kohler's arms. Kohler looking to fight him off but Bones twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
