Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Uhler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Spishak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spishak comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sleeping with Sirens kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brad Uhler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sammy Spishak!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spishak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Uhler pinned against the cage. Uhler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Spishak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spishak dodges the punch combination from Uhler.
Spishak with a hook.
Uhler slips under a jab.
Uhler tries to clinch but Spishak moves away
and Spishak counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Spishak staying out of range there.

Spishak looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Spishak seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Uhler has recovered full guard.

Spishak is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spishak wants to pass the guard but Uhler is keeping the position.
Spishak pushing down on Uhler's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Spishak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uhler is just riding it out for now. Spishak eventually gives up the hold.
Spishak stops Uhler from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Spishak is trying to work for a kimura but Uhler is defending well.
Spishak prevents Uhler from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spishak is trying to control the action in half guard but Uhler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Uhler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Uhler tries to get out of the position.

Spishak seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Uhler is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Sammy Spishak!
