The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reva fails with the takedown
and van der Sloot counters with an inside leg kick.
Reva avoids a kick to the body.
Reva fails with a takedown attempt.
Reva keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from van der Sloot.
Reva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Reva checks a low kick from van der Sloot.
van der Sloot misses with a straight right.
van der Sloot lands with a nice body punch.
Reva tries for a takedown but van der Sloot circles away easily
and van der Sloot connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Joran van der Sloot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Reva.

Reva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. van der Sloot did well to prevent Reva getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Reva tries to pass the half guard into mount. van der Sloot knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
