PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rockford Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leto II Atreides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Knight might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Stars that Play with Laughing Sams Dice by Jimi Hendrix. Rockford Knight has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atreides throws a sloppy head kick

and Knight counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Knight.
Atreides with a knee to the head.

It looks like Rockford Knight has been cut.
Knight is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A head punch on the inside from Knight fails to land.
Atreides is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Knight is defending well.
Knight dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Atreides holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Knight tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Knight lands with a light punch inside.
Atreides fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rockford Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leto II Atreides.

Knight lands with a left to the head.
Atreides is trying to pull guard but Knight has him pressed against the cage.
Knight misses with a shot to the kidneys.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Atreides's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That has opened up Leto II Atreides's cut even more.
Knight lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Atreides pulls guard successfully.

Knight decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rockford Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knight gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Knight lands with a short shot to the head.
Knight lands a right hand that snaps the head of Atreides backwards.
Atreides blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Knight managing to block the knees to the body from Atreides.
Knight lands a right hand.

The cut above Leto II Atreides's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Knight creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Atreides with a big uppercut! Atreides tries to clinch up but Knight pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Atreides to the mat! Atreides covers up and Knight unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rockford Knight!
After winning the bout, Rockford Knight thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
