Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Taic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Project Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taic throws a right and a left that Fighter avoids nicely.

Taic moves into the clinch.

Taic pulls guard successfully.
Fighter tries to free his leg and advance position but Taic is retaining full guard.
Fighter pushes down on Taic's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fighter works his foot free and advances to mount.

Fighter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taic is on top in guard.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Taic from controlling successfully.
Taic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fighter on the ground.

Fighter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fighter is looking for a triangle but Taic pushes his legs off easily.
Taic stands up over Fighter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Fighter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fighter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fighter looking for a guillotine here but Taic defends easily.
Taic trying to control but Fighter is working from the bottom.

Taic is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fighter has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Taic is looking to defend but Fighter has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Taic! Fighter pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Taic taps out and this one is all over!
