Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Weidman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Waine Bitterhall!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weidman clinches with his opponent.
Bitterhall tries to pull guard but Weidman holds him up against the cage and eventually Bitterhall drops back down to his feet.
Bitterhall's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Weidman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A frustrated look appears on Weidman's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Weidman manages to break the clinch.

Weidman waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Bitterhall. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Bitterhall to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Weidman wants to stand but Bitterhall is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bitterhall trying to control the position here.
Bitterhall should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Weidman tries to stand but Bitterhall is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weidman wants to pass the guard but Bitterhall is keeping the position.
Weidman wants to stand but Bitterhall has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Weidman throws a hook but Bitterhall avoids it easily.
Weidman pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bitterhall blocks a jab.
Bitterhall takes one to the side of the head.
Weidman is looking to clinch but Bitterhall is avoiding it.

Bitterhall showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Weidman.

Bitterhall scores with a takedown into Weidman's guard.
Bitterhall throwing strikes from guard but Weidman blocks nicely.
Bitterhall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weidman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bitterhall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Weidman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bitterhall asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weidman tries to bench press Bitterhall off him but Bitterhall keeps the position.
Bitterhall in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Weidman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bitterhall on the ground.
Weidman is trying to get back to half guard.
The ground and pound from Bitterhall seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Bitterhall stalls from top position.
Bitterhall tries to advance to mount but Weidman denies him.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bitterhall has eaten all the pies!
Sloppy strikes there by Bitterhall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bitterhall stands up and beckons Weidman to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blake Weidman dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bitterhall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Weidman shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Bitterhall takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Weidman sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Bitterhall bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Blake Weidman!
Blake Weidman is the new heavyweight champion!
