Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Collen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nuib Sharaz!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharaz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Collen counters with a one-two to the body.
Sharaz lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Sharaz. No joy for Collen on that attempt.
Collen throws a series of punches but Sharaz avoids them all with ease.
Collen shoots in looking for a takedown. Sharaz tries to sprawl out of it but Collen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sharaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sharaz's corner calls for a 1-2. Sharaz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Ryan Collen has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sharaz loads up on a big right hand but Collen slips the punch.
Good shot there by Sharaz.
Sharaz catches Collen napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Collen to the canvas!
Collen is rocked!
Sharaz stands up and waves to Collen to follow him.
Oh Collen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Collen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Collen seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Collen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sharaz misses with a straight left.
Sharaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Collen slips under a jab from Sharaz.
Collen shoots in but no luck this time.
Collen is breathing heavily.
Collen drops his hands momentarily and Sharaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Collen tries to clinch up but Sharaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Sharaz grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Collen takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Sharaz cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nuib Sharaz!
