I think McDonald might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to No Apologies. Spair comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Flames kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mark McDonald had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dee Spair!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spair closes the distance and pushes McDonald back into the cage.
McDonald fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Spair doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McDonald blocks a body shot from Spair.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Spair.
McDonald tries to pull guard but Spair holds him up against the cage and eventually McDonald drops back down to his feet.
Spair tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Spair takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Spair fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McDonald manages to avoid it.
McDonald slips under a jab.

Spair ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McDonald moves away.
McDonald tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spair sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McDonald somewhat.
Spair scores with a shot to the body.
McDonald shoots in and drives through. Spair sprawls well.
Spair thows a body shot but no joy.

Spair gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head punch on the inside from Spair fails to land.
McDonald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spair just stands there and leans against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dee Spair dominated that round.
That's time! McDonald's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Spair counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A big left from Spair misses.
A shot to the body from Spair misses
and McDonald makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Spair. No joy for McDonald on that attempt.
Spair wants to clinch.
Spair loads up on a big right hand but McDonald slips the punch.

Spair misses with a lunging right hand

and McDonald counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Spair wants to sweep but no luck.

McDonald drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McDonald jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McDonald tries to free his leg and advance position but Spair is retaining full guard.

McDonald gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and McDonald decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spair's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spair wants to stand but McDonald is controlling the position.
Spair is pulling down on McDonald's head. It's preventing any offense from McDonald, at least for the moment.

McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spair swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McDonald passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Spair wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDonald decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Spair is looking to clinch.

McDonald wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spair, who protects the arm well.

McDonald is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Spair looks calm but he's in trouble here. McDonald gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Spair is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! McDonald lets go of the hold and Spair can pop his arm back in it's socket.
