Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nopparat Somchaimy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Somchaimy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Somchaimy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sonnen. That did some damage!
Somchaimy moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

It looks like Wanderlei Sonnen has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sonnen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Somchaimy has him pressed against the cage.
Somchaimy unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Sonnen looks winded!

Somchaimy crunches a lovely knee into Sonnen's ribcage.
Somchaimy drops Sonnen with a big knee straight up the middle! Sonnen is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Somchaimy is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Sonnen flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Sonnen is out cold! Somchaimy holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nopparat Somchaimy!
