PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr E Guest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Murosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murosaki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lady Marmalade. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mr E Guest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Koji Murosaki!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murosaki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Guest avoids it really well and circles away.

Guest has taken the fight to the clinch.
Guest tries to pull guard but Murosaki forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Guest is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Murosaki jumps guard but Guest stands there with Murosaki around his waist. Murosaki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Guest tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Murosaki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Murosaki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Guest needs to keep his hands up - Murosaki had a free shot at his head there.
Both fighters circling a little - Guest finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murosaki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Guest stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Koji Murosaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murosaki throws a hook to the side of Guest's head but Guest sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Murosaki thows a left - swing and a miss!
Murosaki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Guest tries to avoid it but Murosaki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Guest to the ground. Guest escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Murosaki keeps the fight on the outside.
Guest shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Murosaki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Murosaki jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Murosaki lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Guest throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Murosaki is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Guest shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Murosaki napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Guest wants to control but Murosaki is keeping him busy.
Guest misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Guest misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Guest sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Murosaki is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Guest cracks Murosaki with a big right hand but Murosaki just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr E Guest dominated that round.
That's time! Guest's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Murosaki throws a body punch but Guest moves out of range.
Guest uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Murosaki.

and Guest counters by moving into the clinch.
Guest really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Murosaki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Guest loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Murosaki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Murosaki connects with a superb combination that knocks Guest out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Murosaki before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Guest!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Koji Murosaki!
A less than humble Koji Murosaki misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
