Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Ewing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Ewing is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chuck Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Ewing!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ewing moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Taylor thows a body shot but no joy.
Ewing tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taylor swivels and escapes.

Ewing drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Taylor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Taylor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ewing asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Taylor is not content to let Ewing control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor is pushing Ewing's head away, looking to escape. Ewing manages to hold on to the position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Taylor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Taylor lands with an uppercut that bounces Ewing off the cage and back into rage.
Taylor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ewing takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Taylor's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Taylor duly obliges.
Ewing shoots for a double leg takedown but Taylor sprawls well. He's pushed Ewing's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ewing closes the distance and clinches.
Taylor wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ewing has him pressed against the cage.
Ewing wants a takedown but no success here.
Chuck Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Ewing.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taylor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ewing moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Chuck Taylor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taylor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ewing shoots in for a takedown but Taylor shows good takedown defense.
Ewing finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Taylor could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ewing tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ewing changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to avoid it but Ewing manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taylor to the ground. Taylor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A combination from Taylor does no damage.
Taylor throws a body punch but Ewing moves out of range.
Taylor lands a jab to the nose.
Taylor scores with a sloppy right hand. Ewing should have avoided that one.
Taylor misses with an uppercut. Ewing saw that one coming.

Ewing closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ewing lands in his opponent's guard.
Ewing tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ewing shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Ewing keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chuck Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Ewing.
Ewing shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taylor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ewing.

Taylor throws a hook to the side of Ewing's head but Ewing sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Taylor throws a jab but it's blocked by Ewing.
Taylor lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ewing backs up against the cage.

A swing and a miss from Taylor.
Taylor takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
No luck for Ewing with that takedown attempt.

Ewing will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Taylor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ewing looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ewing sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Ewing is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Taylor pulls his head out easily.

Ewing makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ewing.
Ewing lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Taylor!

Ewing wants to control but Taylor manages to buck him off and is now in Ewing's guard! Nice work there by Taylor!

Ewing has control of Taylor's left arm, preventing Taylor from doing any damage.

Ewing manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taylor manages to get himself to full guard.
Ewing is pushing down on Taylor's leg trying to pass to half guard. Taylor is fighting to maintain full guard but Ewing has managed to sneak the leg through.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ken Ewing just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ewing moves forwards but Taylor connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nice straight punches there by Taylor. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Taylor.
Taylor throws a looping overhand right but Ewing ducks down to avoid it.
Taylor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ewing.
Chuck Taylor is winning the standup battle so far.

Taylor misses with an uppercut. Ewing saw that one coming.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chuck Taylor.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Taylor, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
