PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between CJ Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorn Anthriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 2pac & Dr.Dre - California Love. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorn Anthriel!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anthriel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
Anthriel tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson takes a swing at Anthriel's ribcage but misses.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Anthriel shows good takedown defense.
Johnson swings for the body but Anthriel moves out of range.
Anthriel stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Anthriel walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jorn Anthriel will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Anthriel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Anthriel lands with a nice combination. Johnson backs away looking to recover.

Johnson is rocked!
Johnson walks straight into a right hand from Anthriel - that's dropped him! Anthriel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Johnson from any more punishment! Johnson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
