The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gustafsson rushes Angeil and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Angeil is trying to break the clinch but Gustafsson has him pressed against the cage.
Angeil tries to land knees in the clinch but Gustafsson avoids the damage to the body.

Angeil wants to pass the guard but Gustafsson is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gustafsson has his feet on Angeil's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Gustafsson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Gustafsson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Angeil is on top in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gustafsson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Angeil wants to improve his position but Gustafsson is controlling well.

Alexander Gustafsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Angeil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Angeil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
