PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Gerow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Henderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Monster. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Gerow!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gerow finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Henderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gerow has him pressed against the cage.
Gerow jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Henderson walks away with a smile on his face. Gerow gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Henderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gerow's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Henderson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Henderson postures up.

Henderson gets to his feet. Gerow looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Henderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gerow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Henderson is stalling in the full guard.

Gerow is working an open guard so Henderson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Henderson shoots in looking for a takedown but Gerow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Henderson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gerow scores with a push kick.

Gerow gets caught napping as Henderson dives in and scores a takedown. Gerow manages to retain guard.
Henderson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Henderson stands and steps away. Gerow gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gerow has his takedown stuffed

and Henderson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gerow's guard now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Henderson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Gerow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Henderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Henderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gerow looks winded!

Henderson gets to his feet - Gerow follows without any prompting.

Henderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gerow to the mat! Gerow manages to get full guard.

Henderson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Henderson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Henderson has managed to clinch.

Henderson tightens his grip and picks Gerow up, before dumping him to the ground. Gerow manages to land in guard.

Henderson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gerow, up you get!

Henderson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Henderson controls the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gerow is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Henderson's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Henderson! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Gerow has tapped! This one is allllll over!
