The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asashoryu rushes Mccarry and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Asashoryu tries to break the clinch but Mccarry is controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on Mccarry's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Asashoryu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mccarry throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Mccarry takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mccarry misses with a combination
and as Mccarry loses concentration momentarily, Asashoryu counters with a picture perfect head kick! Mccarry goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Yokozuna Asashoryu!
Yokozuna Asashoryu very nearly forgot to thank Brute amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
