Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven Stepp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jorge Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepp takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jorge Santiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santiago misses the body punch

and Stepp counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Santiago!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Stepp lands a nice forearm strike.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stepp misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Stepp in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Santiago manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stepp wants to advance to full mount but Santiago doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Santiago looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Santiago not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stepp missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Santiago looking for a guillotine here but Stepp defends easily.

Santiago manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Santiago throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stepp because Santiago loaded up on that one.
Santiago throws some wild stikes that Stepp manages to avoid easily.
Santiago thowing shots but they're missing.
Stepp is desperately trying to improve his position but Santiago has a good base and remains in mount.
Stepp is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
Stepp working to try and regain half guard.
Santiago punching from mount but Stepp doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Santiago misses with some ground and pound and Stepp recovers position to half guard.
Stepp wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
It looks like Santiago is going to stand back up.

Stepp makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Stepp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Santiago avoids it really well and circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santiago changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Santiago jabs Stepp to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Santiago lands with a right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Santiago.
Stepp is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Santiago pushes Stepp away with a front kick.
Stepp takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Steven Stepp has been cut.
A nice combination there by Santiago.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Santiago connects with an inside leg kick.

Santiago lands a big head kick that sends Stepp tumbling to the mat! Santiago takes a step backwards and waves Stepp back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Stepp is rocked!
A solid leg kick lands there for Santiago.
Santiago cracks Stepp with an open hand slap.
Oh Stepp is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stepp drops his hands momentarily and Santiago needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Stepp just on the top of the head. Stepp drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Stepp - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jorge Santiago!
Jorge Santiago decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
