Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leonidas Spartacusson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caco Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spartacusson comes to the cage accompanied by Badr Hari. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Caco Vera!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Vera.

It looks like Leonidas Spartacusson has been cut.
Spartacusson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vera is looking to slow Spartacusson down with leg kicks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A combination from Vera does no damage.

Spartacusson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vera is trying to defend but Spartacusson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Spartacusson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Vera is looking to escape.

Spartacusson wants to work for an arm triangle but Vera is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Spartacusson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Spartacusson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Vera makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vera.

Vera is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Spartacusson throwing strikes but missing.

Vera pushes Spartacusson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Spartacusson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vera's waist but Vera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spartacusson off to one side.
Vera throws a one two combo.
Vera lands with a shot to the body.
Spartacusson is breathing heavily.
Spartacusson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spartacusson.
Vera pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spartacusson back to the cage. Vera follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Vera lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Spartacusson is rocked!
Whack! Vera lands a heavy head kick that drops Spartacusson. The ref tackles Vera to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Spartacusson was done.
