The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raymond moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ellis throws a jab but it's blocked by Raymond.
Raymond keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ellis.
Ellis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Raymond tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ellis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ellis connects with a nice looking jab.

It looks like Gaige Raymond has been cut.
Ellis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Raymond.
Alexander Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raymond misses with a few strikes there.
Ellis throws a lazy right hand but Raymond sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

No joy there for Raymond, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Raymond looks to land a combination but Ellis avoids it well.
Raymond throws a right and a left that Ellis avoids nicely.

Raymond tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ellis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ellis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raymond was well out of range. Poor timing from Ellis.
Ellis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Raymonds jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Raymond misses with a few strikes there.

Ellis throws a looping overhand right but Raymond ducks down to avoid it.
Ellis throws a hook but Raymond avoids it easily.
Ellis throws an overhand right that lands on Raymond's shoulder, as Raymond tries to avoid the shot.
Raymond shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ellis but Ellis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ellis works Raymond's body with a nice hook.
Ellis throws a leg kick that is checked
and Raymond counters with a good low kick that Ellis was not able to check.
Ellis jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Alexander Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ellis throws a chopping leg kick but Raymond manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Raymond ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Ellis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Raymond. That did some damage!
Ellis scores with a hook to the body. Raymond takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Ellis fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Raymond to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Raymond looks to clinch but Ellis throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Raymond taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

After the fight, Alexander Ellis was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
