Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ric Landeverde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ric Landeverde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Roach!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Landeverde moves into range and clinches up with Roach.
Landeverde is pressed up against the cage. Roach has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Landeverde down to the mat. Landeverde avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Landeverde shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Roach manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Landeverde fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Landeverde looking to control but Roach is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Landeverde wants to stand up but Roach is controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roach is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Roach is trying to keep Landeverde in close.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Landeverde tries to free his leg and advance position but Roach is retaining full guard.
Landeverde would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Landeverde throws a strike but Roach rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Roach pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Landeverde is keeping the position for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Roach thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ric Landeverde dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Landeverde closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Roach to the mat! Roach manages to get full guard.

Ric Landeverde overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Landeverde drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roach looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roach looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roach!

Roach is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Landeverde is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Landeverde wants to control but Roach postures up.

Roach wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Landeverde, who protects the arm well.

Roach is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Landeverde knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Roach has hold of Landeverde's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Landeverde seems comfortable defending it but Roach has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Landeverde is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Landeverde is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Roach couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Roach!
