Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Briggs Lovejoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Augusto has chosen Funkist-Snow Fairy as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lovejoy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Augusto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lovejoy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Augusto throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Lovejoy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Augusto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lovejoy has managed to get both his arms back between Augusto's legs - danger averted.
Lovejoy tries to stand but Augusto is controlling from the bottom.
Lovejoy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Augusto gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lovejoy is looking for a kimura here.

Lovejoy wants to control the pace but Augusto is squirming around nicely.
Lovejoy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Augusto is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lovejoy is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Miguel Augusto will probably get the nod.
That's time! Lovejoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Augusto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lovejoy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Augusto somewhat.
Briggs Lovejoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lovejoy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
