The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kruger fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Garza, pushing him back against the cage.
Garza tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kruger just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kruger successfully pulls guard.
Garza trying to control the position from guard on top but Kruger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Garza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Garza passes into half guard.

Kruger actively working from the bottom here.

Garza is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kruger defends it well.
Garza passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kruger!
Garza prevents Kruger from getting the reversal.

Garza is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kruger is surviving well by controlling Garza's body position as best he can.
