Petrov comes to the cage accompanied by The Harlem Shake. The crowd seem to be enjoying Fernandes's choice of entrance music: Igor Melotto . Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miguel Fernandes!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Petrov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petrov seems to be working for a kimura but Fernandes defends the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fernandes is not content to let Petrov control the position.

Petrov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Still in half guard, Petrov seems content to control.

Petrov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fernandes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Petrov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Petrov wants to work for an arm triangle but Fernandes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Petrov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fernandes is just riding it out for now. Petrov eventually gives up the hold.

Fernandes is looking to control Petrov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fernandes avoid being mounted?

Petrov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Petrov is just content to waste time from the top position. Fernandes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Fernandes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Petrov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Petrov has gone for a leg lock! Fernandes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Petrov's guard.
Fernandes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Petrov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fernandes manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Petrov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Petrov wants to control from the top but Fernandes keeps moving.

Petrov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fernandes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Petrov has Fernandes in his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Petrov dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fernandes wants to get back to his feet.

Petrov is trying for a kimura here. Fernandes looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Petrov wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Yuri Petrov!
After the fight, Yuri Petrov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
