PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hausser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lancaster comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fort Minor - Remember The Name kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Hausser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hausser keeps the fight on the outside.
Lancaster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hausser stuffs the takedown.
Lancaster tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hausser paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hausser tries to clinch up but Lancaster circles away and keeps his distance.
Hausser stuffs the takedown attempt from Lancaster. Lancaster gets slowly back to his feet.
Paul Hausser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Lancaster.

Hausser gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lancaster keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hausser wants to take a breather but Lancaster is having none of it.
Lancaster is looking to improve his position.
Lancaster has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hausser is working away from the top position though.
Hausser stops Lancaster from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lancaster landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Hausser tries to score a body lock takedown but Lancaster shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hausser wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lancaster has him pressed against the cage.

Lancaster tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hausser smiles and moves away.

and Hausser counters with a shoot takedown. Lancaster fights it but they end up in guard.
Hausser might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lancaster wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Hausser dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hausser fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lancaster sprawls well initially but Hausser persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Hausser is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hausser changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lancaster looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lancaster is looking for a sweep. Hausser is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lancaster is trying to control but Hausser manages to pass to mount!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A nice elbow there by Hausser.
Hausser lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hausser can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lancaster is looking to escape.
Lancaster is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Hausser dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hausser moves away from the strike by Lancaster.
Lancaster tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hausser swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Paul Hausser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hausser throws a sloppy head kick and Lancaster moves out of range easily.
Lancaster seems to have recovered his senses.

and Hausser counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hausser.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lancaster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hausser is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hausser makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hausser stands up over Lancaster, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hausser loads up on a big left hand. Lancaster felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hausser looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Lancaster can't hide his disappointment, as Hausser celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Hausser!
