Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Souta Itou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Charles!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itou throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Charles rushes Itou and presses him up against the ropes.
Charles wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Itou fails to pull guard.

Itou breaks the clinch.

Charles changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Itou looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Charles landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Itou is trying to get back to half guard.
Itou takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Charles cracks Itou with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Charles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Itou keeps working.
Itou takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Charles trying to control the position but Itou is working away.
Charles happy to just control the position for now.
Charles working the ground and pound.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Charles cracks Itou with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Itou is rocked!
Charles cracks Itou with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Charles immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Itou is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Charles!

In his post fight interview, John Charles started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
