Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Mortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Collin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Collin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Mortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Collin!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortez tries to clinch up.
Collin misses with a series of wild punches.
Mortez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mortez there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mortez shoots in but no luck this time.

Mortez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Collin counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd cheers as Mortez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Collin doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Ron Collin has been cut.
Ron Collin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mortez on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Collin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mortez eats them both and turns towards Collin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Mortez tries to clinch up but Collin circles away and keeps his distance.
Collin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Collin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Collin wants it to stay on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Mortez will probably get the nod.

Mortez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mortez enables Collin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mortez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Collin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
