Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cloud Strife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Avila throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Strife checks a leg kick.
Avila looks for the body kick but Strife saw that one coming.
Avila misses with a left hand
and Strife counters with a stiff right hand.
Strife checks a leg kick.
Avila takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Strife checks a low kick from Avila.
Avila throws a half hearted mid kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Avila lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Strife has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Strife and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Avila feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Strife's calf.
A nice leg kick lands there from Avila.
Avila thumps Strife with a low kick.
Avila is trying hard to land a takedown here. Strife sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Avila slips a jab from Strife.
Cloud Strife is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

It looks like Cloud Strife has been cut.
Avila fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Avila throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Avila does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Strife missing with a left hand there. Avila was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Tommy Avila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Avila bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Avila throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Strife gets caught flat footed, as Avila shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Avila is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Avila with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strife wants to get back to his feet but Avila is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Avila accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Strife wants to stand up but Avila is controlling him.
Strife is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Avila pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strife is keeping the position for now.
Strife really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avila. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Avila slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Avila has gone for a leg lock! Strife slips out almost immediately though and dives into Avila's guard.
Avila is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Avila thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Avila throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Avila prevents Strife from standing back up.
