The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kirk.
Jab, jab by Kirk - just one landing.
McDonald ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
McDonald throws a head kick that Kirk semi-blocks.
McDonald misses with a shot to the body
letting Kirk counter with a right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McDonald walks into a jab.
Kirk keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McDonald lands a nice hook to Kirk's body. Kirk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from McDonald! Kirk is out on his feet! McDonald rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Kirk is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Kirk is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maurice McDonald!
