The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley tries to land a front kick but Bergasmarchi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Marley fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bergasmarchi on the side of the head.
Bergasmarchi moves out of range as Marley throws a body kick.
Marley wants to land a leg kick but Bergasmarchi is out of range.
Marley throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Bergasmarchi avoids a kick to the body.
Bergasmarchi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bergasmarchi blocks a leg kick.
Marley throws a head kick but Bergasmarchi moves out of range.

and Bergasmarchi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Marley's guard now.
Bergasmarchi pushes down on Marley's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Marley won't allow Bergasmarchi to pass to mount.

Bergasmarchi seems to be looking for submissions.
Marley is looking to escape.
Bergasmarchi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bergasmarchi passes to full mount!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marley is trying to stand.
Bergasmarchi trying to control but Marley is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bergasmarchi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Marley is squirming around, avoiding Bergasmarchi's attempts to control the action.
Poor strikes thrown by Bergasmarchi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Bergasmarchi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Marley is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Bergasmarchi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Marley is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Marley flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Bergasmarchi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Marley and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Bergasmarchi slips an arm under Marley chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Bergasmarchi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Bergasmarchi is squeezing on Marley like an anaconda would it's prey. Marley fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
