PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jo El (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and De Bo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El comes to the cage accompanied by Spazz by Teege X Nowly. De Bo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jo El!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, De Bo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

El fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bo to the ground. El is now in Bo's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
El is working Bo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
El scoring with punches to the head and body.
Bo controls El momentarily but El frees himself.
Bo wants to sweep but no luck.
Bo has his hands on El's head, controlling the position.
El trying to control the position from guard on top but Bo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bo looking for a sweep. Not yet Bo, not yet.
El throwing strikes from guard but Bo blocks nicely.
El cracks Bo with a solid left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
El is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

El trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

El throws an elbow that misses. Bo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in El's guard. Nice move by Bo!

Bo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! El is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bo, into his guard.

El throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
El missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
El lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bo is pulling down on El's head to control his posture.
El is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

El trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
El postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
El wants to control from the top but Bo keeps moving.
Bo is trying to control the position but El postures up.
Bo is trying to hold El in close to prevent damage but El has managed to pass into half guard.

El misses with a head shot. Bo uses the momentum to regain guard.
El throws a big elbow that misses.
El trying to control but Bo is working from the bottom.
El makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
El loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
El won't allow Bo to sweep him here.
El distracts Bo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

El got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, El has managed to get both his arms back between Bo's legs - danger averted.

It looks like De Bo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
El is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bo keeping moving, preventing El from controlling successfully.
Bo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bo controls El momentarily but El frees himself.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bo looking for a guillotine here but El defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jo El dominated that round.
The cut man is working on De Bo's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Bo darts in and clinches El up against the cage.
El wants a takedown.
El blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
El is trying to pull guard but Bo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Bo misses with a punch on the inside.
El trying to stall but Bo improves his position.
Bo swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite El's efforts to push away.
El jumps guard but Bo stands there with El around his waist. El gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jo El. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jo El overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
El lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bo has momentary wrist control but El slips an elbow through the middle.
El throwing strikes but missing.

El is looking to work some ground and pound but Bo has wrist control.
Bo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
El has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
El keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bo's head.

Bo is looking for a triangle but El pushes his legs off easily.
El slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
El grinds an elbow into Bo's temple.
You can see the frustration on Bo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bo is looking to regain half guard here but El keeps moving and retains side control.
El looks up at the clock and then as Bo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, El smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Bo is rocked!


That has opened up De Bo's cut even more.
El cracks Bo with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! El immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Bo is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by El!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jo El!
Jo El decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
