The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aspenia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Morris pinned against the cage. Morris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aspenia doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Morris moves into the clinch.
Aspenia wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Morris decides to pull guard.
Aspenia looking to sit in guard and control but Morris gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Aspenia wants to sweep but no luck.

Morris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Aspenia wants to improve his position but instead Morris has moved into half guard.

Morris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aspenia is just riding it out for now. Morris eventually gives up the hold.

Morris thows a huge punch but Aspenia dodges it nicely.

Morris is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aspenia defends it well.
Morris is trying to control. Aspenia wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Morris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Aspenia moves into full guard.

Morris drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aspenia dives on top into guard.
Morris is pulling down on Aspenia's head to control his posture.

Morris wants to sweep here but Aspenia controlling him for the moment.
Morris is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Aspenia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Aspenia wants to stand and escape but instead Morris has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Morris pushes down on Aspenia's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Morris tries to pass to full mount but Aspenia defends it.

Morris is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Aspenia shoots for a takedown but Morris saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Morris checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Aspenia wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Morris has him pressed against the cage.
Aspenia has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Morris gets control of Aspenia's arms and successfully pulls guard. Morris will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Aspenia is posturing up here but Morris has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Aspenia tries to roll out but it's too tight and Aspenia has to tap! Slick submission there by Morris!
