PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeMarcus Kingsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ty Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeMarcus Kingsley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ty Coon!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingsley scores with a crisp jab that stopped Coon in his tracks.

Coon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Coon is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kingsley reverses the position - he's now on top in Coon's guard.
Kingsley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Coon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kingsley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Coon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kingsley gets caught napping as Coon dives in and scores a takedown. Kingsley manages to retain guard.

Coon gets to his feet. Kingsley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

It looks like Ty Coon has been cut.
Coon shoots in for a double leg but Kingsley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kingsley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Coon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kingsley.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Coon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kingsley as he jumps to the side.
DeMarcus Kingsley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ty Coon.
Coon is looking to clinch.
Kingsley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coon tries to avoid it but Kingsley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coon to the ground. Coon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kingsley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Coon pushes Kingsley away with a front kick.
Coon ducks under a wild hook from Kingsley.
Coon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kingsley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kingsley is breathing heavily.
Coon misses with a takedown attempt - Kingsley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Coon lands a right hook to the body.
Coon doesn't manage to clinch there - Kingsley circles away.

Coon moves forwards but Kingsley connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kingsley throws a poor cross that misses
and Coon counters with a stiff right hand.
Coon moves out of range of the strikes.
Coon wants to clinch up but Kingsley keeps it at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kingsley scores with the left hand. Coon knows he should have avoided that one.

Kingsley clinches up with Coon and pushes him back against the cage.
Coon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kingsley up against the cage.

Kingsley manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kingsley wants to clinch but Coon slips to the side
and Coon counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kingsley is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kingsley shoots for a takedown but Coon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that DeMarcus Kingsley will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ty Coon's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Coon shoots in for a takedown but Kingsley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kingsley lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Coon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kingsley counters with an inside leg kick.
Kingsley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice sprawl there from Kingsley as Coon shoots in.
DeMarcus Kingsley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ty Coon.

Kingsley lands a left and a right that send Coon crashing to the mat, dazed. Kingsley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Coon is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kingsley scores with a kick to the body.
Coon is still on wobbly legs! Can Kingsley finish him?
DeMarcus Kingsley is winning the standup battle so far.
Kingsley cracks Coon with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Coon tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kingsley pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Coon is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DeMarcus Kingsley!
