The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Ward misses with a hook. Watson ducked under it nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Ward misses the target.
Ward lands with a nice body punch.
Ward lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Brett Watson has been cut.

Ward sends Watson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ward is motioning to the referee to let Watson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ward fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Watson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Watson looks to clinch but Ward throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Watson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
