PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mak Artur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy DeVito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artur kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I shall return. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVito avoids the body shot from Artur.
Artur tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but DeVito was well out of range. Poor timing from Artur.
Artur throws a nice outside leg kick.
Artur takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Artur ducks under a wild hook from DeVito.
Artur closes this distance looking for a takedown but DeVito circles away.

DeVito throws a chopping leg kick but Artur manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
DeVito throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
DeVito lunges at Artur with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Artur's hand.
Artur pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Artur shoots in looking for a takedown. DeVito tries to sprawl out of it but Artur keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeVito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mak Artur. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeVito moves in looking to clinch but Artur pushes him off.
Artur swings for the body but DeVito moves out of range.

DeVito connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Artur momentarily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
DeVito dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Artur. That did some damage!

Artur moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Artur shoots for a takedown but DeVito saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
DeVito walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Artur checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close round but Tommy DeVito will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Artur scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Artur shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Artur was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Artur is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but DeVito is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
DeVito is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Artur off and has taken his back!
DeVito is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
DeVito has the hooks in. Artur is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Artur is working hard here to advance position.
Artur manages to reverse the position and now he's in DeVito's guard. Nice work there by Artur.

DeVito fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Artur.

Artur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around DeVito's waist but DeVito gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Artur off to one side.

DeVito sends Artur crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! DeVito is motioning to the referee to let Artur up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

DeVito catches Artur with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Artur forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
