Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sato wants it to stay on the feet.
Diaz avoids a kick to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Sato. No joy for Diaz on that attempt.
Diaz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sato defends it nicely.
Mana Sato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Diaz.

Sato feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sato is pushing down on Diaz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Diaz is fighting to maintain full guard but Sato has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sato working over Diaz with some ground and pound. Diaz looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

It looks like John Diaz has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sato wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy.
Sato lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

That has opened up John Diaz's cut even more.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sato in particular looking to stall.

Sato is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Diaz has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sato working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

John Diaz's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Diaz's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
