The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filho checks a leg kick.
Filho misses with a low kick.
Taito is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Taito moves in looking to clinch but Filho pushes him off.
Taito misses with a hook. Filho ducked under it nicely.

Taito is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Taito fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Filho to the ground. Taito is now in Filho's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taito drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Filho manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taito has Filho in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Taito has gone for a leg lock! Filho slips out almost immediately though and dives into Taito's guard.
Taito seems to have recovered his senses.

Taito isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Filho stacks Taito on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Filho!
