Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Wallace will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kevin Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quinn gets the takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Quinn decides to stand back up.
Quinn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Quinn closes the distance and clinches up with Wallace, looking for a takedown. Quinn pushes Wallace against the ropes but Wallace circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wallace stuffs the takedown attempt from Quinn. Quinn gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Quinn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quinn dodges the punch combination from Wallace.
Kevin Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Quinn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Quinn prevents Wallace from improving his position.

Wallace wants to improve his position but Quinn is controlling well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Wallace is doing well to control the position and prevent Quinn from advancing to side control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. William Wallace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Wallace slaps away a takedown attempt from Quinn, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Quinn tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it.

Wallace keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Quinn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Quinn lands in his opponent's guard.
Quinn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wallace has Quinn pulled in close to control his posture.
Wallace preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Quinn stopping the sweep attempt from Wallace.

You can see the frustration on Wallace's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Quinn decides to stand back up.
Quinn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallace sprawls well. Wallace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Quinn gets slowly back to his feet.
Wallace lands a slapping body shot.

Quinn doesn't manage to clinch there - Wallace circles away.
A punch combination from Wallace misses.
Wallace defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Quinn.
Wallace catches Quinn with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wallace enables Quinn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wallace manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wallace is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Wallace looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wallace is wriggling around but Quinn manages to pass to half guard.

Wallace is staying active underneath Quinn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Quinn is working for a submission of some sort.
Quinn tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wallace controls his leg.
Quinn is thwarting Wallace's attempts to control the position.
Quinn working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Wallace's thigh. Wallace counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Quinn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Quinn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Wallace is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Quinn advances position into side control!

Quinn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wallace keeps working.
Wallace is trying to improve his position.
Quinn wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Quinn in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Wallace is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
