Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kj Barakus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Taylor's choice of entrance music: Miseria Cantare - The Beginning. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kj Barakus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Taylor!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor throws a body punch but Barakus moves out of range.

Barakus clinches.
Taylor misses with a hook to the ribs.
Taylor is trying to push Barakus away but Barakus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Barakus as Taylor tries to tie him up.
Barakus taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Taylor is trying to force a seperation but Barakus has the dominant position.
Taylor tries to break free but Barakus pushes him back against the cage.
Taylor can't break the clinch.

Barakus manages to pull guard.
Barakus has a closed guard, preventing Taylor from standing up.

Barakus is looking for a triangle but Taylor pushes his legs off easily.

Taylor trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barakus's guard.
Taylor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Barakus is pulling down on Taylor's head. It's preventing any offense from Taylor, at least for the moment.
Barakus keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Taylor wasn't active enough on the ground.

Barakus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Taylor is trying to defend but Barakus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Taylor wants to control but Barakus is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Barakus is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor is refusing to be controlled, as Barakus sits in half guard.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barakus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barakus is just content to waste time from the top position. Taylor takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Taylor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Barakus is looking to advance position but Taylor has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Taylor tries to control but Barakus wriggling away.
Taylor tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Taylor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Barakus is looking to escape.

Barakus tries to hold on but Taylor pushes him away.
Barakus is squirming around, avoiding Taylor's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taylor controlling his opponent.
Barakus can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kj Barakus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Taylor cracks a nice hook into Barakus's ribs.
Taylor throws a series of punches but Barakus moves out of range.
Barakus drops his hands momentarily and Taylor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Barakus avoids the body shot from Taylor.
Taylor darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like Kj Barakus has been cut.
Taylor works over Barakus's head and body with a nice combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taylor defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barakus.
Nice shot lands for Taylor.
Taylor lands with an uppercut that bounces Barakus off the cage and back into range.

Barakus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barakus is in Taylor's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Taylor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Barakus trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Taylor wriggles free and stands up.
Taylor connects with a looping right hand.
Taylor bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barakus's head backwards.
Taylor lands the left hand.
Kj Barakus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor throws a shot to the body.
Barakus moves forwards but Taylor connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Taylor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Taylor stuffs the takedown.
Taylor with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Taylor throws a good cross that connects.
Taylor scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Barakus is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Taylor.
Taylor feints a jab promting Barakus to slip. Taylor then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Barakus slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


Barakus is rocked!


Kj Barakus's cut is getting worse.

Barakus has managed to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Taylor breaks from the clinch.
Taylor connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barakus's hands.
Barakus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Taylor avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kj Barakus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barakus drops his hands momentarily and Taylor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Taylor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barakus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jake Taylor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taylor lands an overhand right.
Taylor connects with a nice looking jab.
Taylor connects with a crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barakus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barakus takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Oh Barakus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taylor throws a series of punches but Barakus avoids them all with ease.
Barakus seems to have got his legs back now.

Taylor gets caught flat footed, as Barakus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Taylor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Barakus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Taylor bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Barakus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barakus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Taylor circles away.
Taylor lands a two punch combo.
Taylor stuffs the takedown attempt from Barakus. Barakus gets slowly back to his feet.
Taylor circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barakus shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Barakus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kj Barakus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Taylor throws a shot to the body.
Taylor lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Taylor works the jab nicely.


Kj Barakus's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Barakus gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Taylor gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Taylor!
