The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


It looks like Jett Blood has been cut.
Blood slips a jab and a cross from Clay.
Clay throws a right and a left that Blood avoids nicely.

Cassius Clay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clay throws a right and a left that both miss.

Blood fails with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Clay does no damage.
Blood shoots for a double leg takedown but Clay sprawls well. He's pushed Blood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Blood looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Clay looks like he's trying to stand up.

Blood wants to work for an arm triangle but Clay is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clay can do anything to dispel that myth.

Blood slips a nice elbow through Clay's hands, connecting with Clay's forehead.

Blood tries to free his leg and advance position but Clay is retaining full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blood shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clay as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jett Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Blood forces Clay back against the cage and clinches.

Blood breaks from the clinch.
Clay works over Blood's head and body with a nice combination.
Blood moves in looking to clinch but Clay pushes him off.
Blood looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Clay is fending him off so far but Blood persists. Nope, Clay circles away and we're back to standing.
Clay scores with a decent looking hook.
Blood shoots in and drives through. Clay sprawls well.
Blood could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Clay stuffs the takedown.
Blood dodges the punch combination from Clay.
Blood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clay's waist but Clay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blood off to one side.
Blood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clay paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clay swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Blood looks for a takedown but Clay sprawls well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blood slips a jab and a cross from Clay.
Clay throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Blood shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clay pinned against the cage. Clay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Blood shoots in but Clay avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Clay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Blood moves into the clinch.
Blood can't get the takedown.

Blood successfully pulls guard.
Blood throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Blood has a closed guard, preventing Clay from standing up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clay has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blood is proving hard to escape from.
Clay looking to sit in guard and control but Blood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Blood trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Clay trying to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clay stuffs the takedown attempt from Blood. Blood gets slowly back to his feet.
Clay punishes Blood's body with a nice straight punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cassius Clay dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jett Blood's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Clay circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blood shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clay as he avoids it easily.
A jab-cross combination lands for Clay and sends Blood crashing to the mat! Clay follows him down to the mat - Blood regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Blood is rocked!

Clay gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Oh Blood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clay punishes Blood's body with a nice straight punch.
Blood seems to have got his legs back now.
Clay lands with a big right hook that stumbles Blood - he's out on his feet here! Clay follows up with another monster hook that separates Blood from consciousness! Blood falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Clay stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Cassius Clay!
Cassius Clay is the new heavyweight champion!
