The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McKenzie.
McKenzie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Miletich gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Miletich is trying to work for a kimura but McKenzie is defending well.
McKenzie avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Miletich.
McKenzie regains full guard. Nicely done.
Miletich trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McKenzie is trying to keep Miletich in close.

Miletich is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McKenzie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McKenzie has escaped and now he's on top!

McKenzie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
McKenzie wants to free his trapped foot but Miletich is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Miletich wants to improve his position but McKenzie is controlling well.
Miletich keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McKenzie connects with a nice short shot to Miletich's temple.
McKenzie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Miletich with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McKenzie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

McKenzie landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Miletich gets back to full guard.
Miletich wants to sweep here but McKenzie controlling him for the moment.

McKenzie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Miletich's head.

Miletich is still in real trouble! Can McKenzie finish him?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miletich can do anything to dispel that myth.

Miletich has his foot on McKenzie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McKenzie works his way back into a safe position though.
McKenzie works over Miletich with some ground and pound from guard.
Miletich is trying to control the position but McKenzie postures up.
McKenzie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McKenzie slips nicely into half guard.
McKenzie lands a big elbow - Miletich is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for McKenzie!

During a confident post fight interview, Rob McKenzie thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
