PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rex Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiggum Ralph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tyler might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dream On - Aerosmith . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ralph is fending him off so far but Tyler persists. Nope, Ralph circles away and we're back to standing.

Tyler scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ralph tries to bench press Tyler off him but Tyler keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ralph is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ralph tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tyler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ralph is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tyler's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ralph might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tyler kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Tyler is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ralph doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tyler.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tyler lands a nice short elbow.
Ralph is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tyler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ralph tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ralph is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ralph is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tyler postures up in Ralph's guard and throws a big left but Ralph blocks it.

Tyler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Tyler has gone for a leg lock! Ralph slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tyler's guard.

Ralph is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Tyler has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ralph is looking to defend but Tyler has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ralph! Tyler pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ralph taps out and this one is all over!
