Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isaiah Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Rothko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walter Rothko will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Rothko !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rothko tries to sprawl but Ferguson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ferguson is trying to control. Rothko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ferguson is looking for a kimura here.

Rothko looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferguson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rothko keeps working.
Rothko is positioning himself well to prevent Ferguson advancing to mount.
Rothko is trying to get back to full guard.

Rothko trying to control but Ferguson postures up.
Rothko preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Walter Rothko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Rothko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ferguson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ferguson tries to clinch up.
Ferguson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rothko takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Ferguson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rothko 's guard now.

Rothko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ferguson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rothko has a closed guard, preventing Ferguson from standing up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ferguson looking to sit in guard and control but Rothko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rothko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that Rothko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rothko decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferguson, up you get!

Ferguson feints and as Rothko raises his hands in defense, Ferguson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rothko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ferguson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rothko on the ground.
Rothko pulls Ferguson in close to his closed guard and prevents Ferguson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rothko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ferguson's guard.
Ferguson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rothko has passed into side control.

Rothko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ferguson has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A lull in the action here as Rothko stalls from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Isaiah Ferguson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ferguson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rothko as he avoids it easily.
Rothko keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ferguson closes the distance and clinches up with Rothko , looking for a takedown. Ferguson pushes Rothko against the cage but Rothko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ferguson dives in and grabs Rothko 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rothko pushes down on Ferguson's head and hops out.

Ferguson tries to bench press Rothko off him but Rothko keeps the position.

Rothko gets to mount! Ferguson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Rothko looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Ferguson can't escape the position.
Rothko throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ferguson because Rothko loaded up on that one.

Ferguson is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Ferguson wants to control but Rothko is having none of it.

Ferguson tries to hold on but Rothko pushes him away.
Ferguson manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Rothko decides to return to a standing position.

Rothko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rothko is pressed up against the cage. Ferguson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rothko down to the mat. Rothko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Rothko looks for a takedown but Ferguson sprawls well.
Ferguson misses with a head kick.
Ferguson leaves Rothko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ferguson throws a sloppy head kick and Rothko moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rothko changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walter Rothko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rothko is on top in guard.
Rothko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferguson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rothko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rothko seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Walter Rothko hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Rothko closes the distance and clinches.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Ferguson has Rothko pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ferguson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rothko tumbling to the mat - Ferguson dives into Rothko 's guard.
Rothko wants to sweep here but Ferguson controlling him for the moment.

Ferguson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rothko pulls Ferguson in close to his closed guard and prevents Ferguson from doing any damage or advancing position.

I would just about give that final round to Walter Rothko .
