PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mika Vasara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mika Vasara told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasara slaps away a takedown attempt from Payne, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Vasara lands a left and a right that send Payne crashing to the mat, dazed. Vasara thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Payne is rocked!

It looks like Billy Payne has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vasara throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oh Payne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Payne tries for a takedown but Vasara sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Vasara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Payne circles away quickly and effectively.

Payne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Payne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Payne is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vasara looks calm but he's in trouble here. Payne gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vasara is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Payne lets go of the hold and Vasara can pop his arm back in it's socket.
