PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Goran Schwarzeneg was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 42 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Goran Schwarzeneg!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwarzeneg catches Spat with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Spat clinches with his opponent.
Spat stalls.
Spat unloads a knee to the mid-section. Schwarzeneg lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Schwarzeneg tries to score a body lock takedown but Spat shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A short left from Spat.
Spat lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Schwarzeneg jumps guard but Spat turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Spat lands with a short head shot on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Spat breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schwarzeneg fails in his attempt to clinch.
Spat fails with a takedown attempt.
Spat is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schwarzeneg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Spat defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Schwarzeneg.
Jack Spat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Goran Schwarzeneg.

Spat rushes Schwarzeneg and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Spat scores with a shot to the side of Schwarzeneg's head.
Spat lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Schwarzeneg is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Spat to keep the fight standing.
Schwarzeneg trying to control the position but instead, Spat has worked for underhooks and has pushed Schwarzeneg into the cage.
Schwarzeneg tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spat just stands there and leans against the cage.
Spat pushes Schwarzeneg back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A body shot lands from Spat.
Spat lands a knee to the body.
Schwarzeneg looks winded!

Spat lands a body punch in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spat scores with a shoulder strike.
Spat presses Schwarzeneg against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

A short right from Spat on the inside.
Spat throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Spat scores with a shot to the side of Schwarzeneg's head.
Schwarzeneg being controlled against the cage.
Spat lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Schwarzeneg backwards.
Spat lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schwarzeneg backwards.
Spat scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Spat stalling.
Spat scores with a shot to the side of Schwarzeneg's head.
Spat lands with a light punch inside.
Spat's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Spat breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Schwarzeneg tries to clinch but Spat moves out of range.

Spat shoots in and bounces Schwarzeneg off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Spat engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Spat trying to control but Schwarzeneg is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Spat wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Schwarzeneg has Spat up against the cage in a clinch.
Spat lands a hook to the side of the head.
Spat is struggling to control the position.
Spat lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Schwarzeneg avoiding damage as Spat throws knees to the body.
Spat lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Schwarzeneg or not.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Spat just leaning against Schwarzeneg, taking a breather.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Spat lands a knee to the head.
Schwarzeneg tries to pull guard but Spat forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Spat lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


Schwarzeneg is rocked!
Spat lands a hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Spat dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Schwarzeneg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Spat not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Spat trying to control but Schwarzeneg is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Spat.
A big left from Schwarzeneg misses.
Spat uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg is looking to clinch but Spat is avoiding it.

Spat shoots in and bounces Schwarzeneg off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Spat is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Schwarzeneg looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Spat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Spat.
Spat dives in and grabs Schwarzeneg's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schwarzeneg pushes down on Spat's head and hops out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Spat clinches.
Schwarzeneg's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A shot in the inside from Spat.
Schwarzeneg has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Schwarzeneg lands an elbow that stopped Spat in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Jack Spat has been cut.
Spat lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Spat is pushing Schwarzeneg up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Schwarzeneg scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Schwarzeneg has Spat pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Schwarzeneg pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Spat tumbling to the mat - Schwarzeneg dives into Spat's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spat looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Spat is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Schwarzeneg frees his head nicely. Oh but Spat has switched to an armbar! Schwarzeneg is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Jack Spat!
A relieved looking Jack Spat thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
