Starks comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of Tiger. Gracie has chosen Slaughtered by PANTERA as his entrance music. Jonny Starks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Starks as he jumps to the side.
Starks throws out a loose jab but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Starks lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Starks misses with a straight left.
Gracie slips a jab from Starks.
Starks with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A combination from Starks does no damage.
Starks scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Starks misses with an uppercut.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Jonny Starks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Goro Gracie.
Gracie gets the takedown into side control.

Starks is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Starks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Starks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Starks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie has hold of Starks's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Starks seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Starks is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Starks is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
