Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Mahoney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Exley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mahoney kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Dropkick Murphys - Flannigans Ball. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Exley moves out of range as Mahoney strikes.
Mahoney fails to land with a series of punches.

Mahoney closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Exley to the mat! Exley manages to get full guard.

Mahoney pushes Exley off looking to stand but Exley dives back in and keeps control.

Mahoney throws a series of punches but Exley avoids them all with ease.

Exley tries to pull guard but Mahoney holds him up against the cage and eventually Exley drops back down to his feet.
Shane Mahoney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Exley.
Mahoney wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Exley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mahoney is trying to break the clinch but Exley has him pressed against the cage.
Exley has Mahoney pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mahoney manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mahoney escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shane Mahoney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mahoney connects with a good right hand that stumbles Exley. Exley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Mahoney tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Exley paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Exley avoids a punch combination nicely.
Exley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mahoney counters with a takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Exley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Exley is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Exley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mahoney manages to get himself to full guard.
