Kong is looking to take a break and control but Bernardo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bernardo throws Kong to one side and escapes!
Bernardo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kong tries to avoid it but Bernardo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kong to the ground. Kong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A telegraphed right hand from Kong misses the target.

Kong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bernardo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kong on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bernardo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bernardo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kong's guard.
Kong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bernardo is trying desperately to improve position.

Kong fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kong with shots to the head and body - Bernardo looks very uncomfortable down there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Bernardo is rocked!
Kong postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bernardo in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bernardo to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Kid Kong is the new welterweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, Kid Kong thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
